A Veil: To Wear or Not to Wear?

SHOULD you wear a veil? Are you SUPPOSED to wear a veil?
Veils are a subject of frustration for most every bride. Without fail each bride that comes into my shop has some emotion when wedding veils are brought up, and it is usually CONFUSION!

Once you have chosen your wedding dress you should try a few different styles and lengths of veils on. You may find that you like a veil more than you originally thought you would. If you just don’t feel like a veil is for you, then it’s NOT. There is no right or wrong answer to this dilemma!

There are so many different kinds of veils that the choices can seem overwhelming. Look through magazines or browse Pinterest to get an idea of what you like and have your bridal consultant help you with what looks best with your dress. Veils will run you anywhere from $70-$300 so be sure you’re only paying for something that you love. {FYI: We have a great selection of veils to rent at our bridal rental shop in Utah for $40.}

The most important thing for you to remember is that this is YOUR day! Close your eyes and envision what you want it to look like. Many brides decide they don’t want a veil and then have a sister or Grandma pestering them relentlessly about wearing one. You can kindly remind them that they can choose to wear a veil when THEY get married! While it’s important to listen to your entourage’s ideas and opinions, the final decision is up to you.

It’s YOUR day. Do what makes YOU feel happy, comfortable, and BEAUTIFUL!
